Carp Fair’s new website now allows for exhibitors to register online. Please click on the ‘Register Online’ link and follow the steps to register your exhibits for the Fair.
IMPORTANT TO EXHIBITORS:
- 1. Ages of all horses and foals will be reckoned from January 1st of the current year.
- 2. Only Original Certificates of Registration will be accepted for horses entered in classes that are designated “registered”. Prize money won in these classes will not be paid until all Certificates of Registration are presented to the General Manager.
- 3. Any driven entry must have another capable driver only with them. Under no circumstances are there to be other persons inside the ring while judging is taking place, except officials, judges and handlers.
- 4. Under no circumstances – No riders in wagons other than the two capable drivers.
- 5. All cart classes must have capable driver and handler inside ring.
- 6. Stall fees are $ 8.00 per day or $ 16.00 for the weekend in the barn. Line Horses will be allowed in the barn only if space is available on Saturday and Sunday. Only those stall reservations made through the General Manager submitting them with the entry forms will be honoured on a first come basis. Stall fees, Cheques can be post-dated until September 9th 2011. First 22 Entries of 6 Horse Hitch, will get stalls – at Directors Discretion.
- 7. Ring numbers will be available from the Directors in the center ring announcers booth in the Heavy Horse Ring.
- 8. Exhibitors are required to forward proof of liability insurance for the current year for all animals being shown at fairs with the entry forms. Entries will not be processed until this information is received, and are subject to late entry fees.
- 9. Separate entry forms are to be used for each exhibitor, please.
- 10. Entries close on Friday, September 9th, 2011. Entries will not be taken over the phone.
- 11. Entry fees are 15% of the prize money awarded. The penalty for late entry, made after September 10th until the day of the show, is an additional 5% of the prize money awarded.
- 12. Due to time restriction – show proceeds rain or shine.
- 13. It will be decided at show time if the show will proceed. Carp Agricultural Society will have the final say on the show.
- 14. PROFESSIONAL SHOWMANSHIP IS REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES.
- 15. All DUSTING must be done outside of buildings.
ATTENTION:
To be eligible for prize money, each breed must be shown separately and have at least:
- 1. Three exhibitors per breed
- 2. Twenty (20) animals per breed exhibited at Class A Fairs, of which Carp is one. If these requirements are not met by the individual breeds, only half of the prize money will be paid.
DEFINITIONS:
- 1. For the purpose of the Classifications, an exhibit shall be interpreted as follows: All purebred registered animals, whether owned by one person or by more than one person (individually or jointly), are considered to be the production of the farm or breeding unit on which they are maintained.
- 2. For the purpose of the Classifications, a breeding unit is defined as follows: In each classification where the same or common interests are involved in more than one breeding operation, such operations are considered as one breeding unit. In all cases where there is any doubt that more than one breeding unit exists, the interpretation shall be that only one breeding unit exists. The responsibility of proof of separation of breeding units shall rest with the exhibitor(s).
- 3. A breeding unit may show two animals in any three classes and only one animal in the balance of the breeding classes up to 10 animals per breeding unit.
- 4. All exhibits must be owned and registered in the name of the exhibitor. Note exception of the Get-of-Sire class.
- 5. No animal may be shown in more than one class except for the Get-of-Sire, Progeny of Dam or Stallion and Three Mares classes.
- 6. There shall be not more than one entry per exhibitor in the Get-of-Sire, Progeny of Dam or Stallion and Three Mares classes.
- 7. No children under age of 10 on wagons or carts, with exception of junior classes.
- 8. Stalls for Heavy Horse Hitches take precedence over Line Class Horses.
