I think this is just unnecesary. None of the other fairs do this. We were planning on going to the Carp Fair but will not be now. I can understand a separate entrance to the Dance and no backpacks or bags in that way. But to the actual fairgrounds where it is all families going in is absorb. If you are having problems with weapons and booze then maybe you should just close the fair down. But I really doubt you have either of these problems. And if you do, just check bags and have cops standing there to escort those people out. Why ruin it for everyone else. This fair is going downhill fast. I will never return to the Carp Fair now.

I am glad I took the family to the Richmond Fair this year. Richmond Fair it will always be from now on!!!!

Just read over some of the previous comments and need clarification on camera bags...
Can I bring a camera bag in the fair, obviously it can be searched first?
I carry multiple lenses, flash, etc.
Thanks,
Cory

I want the ability to bring a backpack. My purses are larger than a backpack but they are harder to carry and use up a hand. I have a HIGH energy 3 year old and need to bring pull ups and wipes and ziplocks etc. etc. and I need both hands free. I need my backback for full enjoyment.

I am a grandmother who will be attending the Carp Fair on Friday the 23rd with my 3 grandchildren. This will be the 4th year in a row that we have attended. I have always had a backpack as both my hands are needed to hold little hands( I know I see we are exempt) I will be purchasing 4 bracelets, 3 admissions, play a few games and of course candy floss and drinks. If I did not have my grandchildren I would still have a backpack as it is the easiest way to carry things. The no backpack rule is ridiculous.
You all have to give your head a shake if you think for one minute that this will stop people from bringing in alcohol , drugs, or anything else that could harm themselves or anyone else. It is time innocent people stop paying the price for a few bad apples. Perhaps you are more concerned that people may bring a little food and drinks in and your revenues may suffer

Hello!

My name is Polina and I am a local aspiring singer/songwriter. I'm 15 years old and am going into grade 10 at West Carleton Secondary School. I enjoy the carp fair every year, and you seem to have a great entertainment line up this time as well.

I am contacting you because I would like to ask for a chance to perform a couple of my songs at the carp fair. I have been writing them and composing music with my guitar for several years. My genre is a mix of country, indie, and pop. I love music very much and it would be an honour if you could find a spot to fit me in to perform. I'm not asking for much, just an opportunity.

Thank you for your time and I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Today's episode had a candy apple feature. Would it be possible to receive the candy apples recipe?

Thanks,

Could you please post a schedule of events for this September's Fair?
People, like myself, planning a trip from another province (Newfoundland)
need to purchase our airline tickets now. I have nothing to show my friends
as to a schedule of events for the Fair which is a little more than
2 months away.

Thank you
